When it comes to going on holiday many of us travel to the same destinations, but one travel lovers insists that you visit this underrated holiday spot – it is cheap and filled with beauty.
Many of us hope to enjoy a holiday abroad each year, but the reality is that it can often be a very expensive affair. But, there are plenty of less popular spots to visit that will not break your bank.
Albania is one of the most affordable travel destinations in Europe, but a spot that is often overlooked. The travel essentials such as accomodation, food and drinks are suitable for any type of budget.
The city of Sarandë in southern Albania is the perfect place for those looking to enjoy beautiful beaches, walks along the promenade, and see historical sites. Plus, there are plenty of fantastic bars and restaurants to enjoy.
While the city is perfect for a trip, if you looking to stop somewhere slightly quieter to stop, or want spend the day away from tourists, the beautiful town of Ksamil is just a 20 minute drive away. Travel content creator, Laila, from Sweden, has hailed it as “one of the best travel destinations when you’re on a budget”.
She shared a video clip on TikTok showing the beauty of the city. She says there are “amazing beaches with crystal clear waters, stunning beach clubs and restaurants”.
Laila was impressed by how cheap her trip was after discovering cheap hotels for under 25 euros £20.85. She said: “We stayed in a nice room with a sea view balcony and breakfast for 19 euros per person at a three-star meta.”
She said the food was also so cheap and you can spent less than 10 euros on a meal. “I need to go,” commented one. “This is perfect,” agreed another.
In Ksamil you will find crystal-clear waters, a laid-back atmosphere, and plenty of beautiful beaches to explore on foot. The white beaches and crystal clear waters at Lori Beach look similar to brochure pictures of The Maldives.
On the other side of Ksamil Beach is Bora Bora Beach where you can enjoy lively beach bars and water sports. People often rent a kayak to visit the nearby uninhaited islands.
If you love history, a 15-minute drive away from Ksamil there is Butrint National Park – a UNESCO World Hertiage site that is filled with ancient ruins.
Plus, if you visit Ksamil for a longer period, it can be fun to take a day trip to the nearby island of Corfu, Greece.
How to get to Ksmail from UK
Unfortunately there are no direct flights to Ksamil from the UK.
To travel from the UK to Ksamil, a popular route is to fly to Corfu, Greece, which will take around three hours. Then, take a ferry to Sarandë. Once you have arrived, you can take a short taxi or bus ride ot Ksamil.
Alternatively, Alania Tour Guides states: “You can get to Ksamil beach by flying to Tirana airport. From Tirana airport, it takes 5.5 hours to travel by bus, taxi or car to Ksamil.”
